Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Vellum, a household-records service operated by Springhead, LLC ("Springhead," "we," "us"). By using Vellum, you agree to these Terms.

Subscription and billing

• Vellum is offered as a recurring subscription. Pricing and billing cadence are shown at the time you sign up and confirmed in your account settings.
• Subscriptions may include a free trial; if so, a valid credit card is required to start the trial and you will not be charged during the trial period.
• At the end of any trial, your subscription begins automatically and your card is charged on the cadence shown at signup until you cancel.
• Cancellations are effective at the end of your current billing period; you retain access until then. No prorated refunds.
• Cancel any time from your account settings.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Vellum in good faith. Specifically, you agree not to:

• Forward content to your Vellum inbox that you do not have the right to store or process (e.g., another person's mail without their permission).
• Use Vellum to store illegal content, malware, or material that infringes a third party's rights.
• Attempt to reverse engineer the service, extract our source code, or scrape the service in bulk.
• Resell or sublicense access to Vellum.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or quotas.

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that abuse the service.

Service availability

We make best-effort attempts to keep Vellum available, but we do not offer an uptime SLA. Maintenance, outages, and dependency failures (Postmark inbound mail, Anthropic's API, Supabase, Vercel) may impact service.

Records disclaimer

Vellum is a tool that helps you keep track of household records — warranties, receipts, manuals, and product information. The information Vellum surfaces is derived from the emails and documents you forward to it and from public manufacturer sources. Vellum does not provide legal, financial, repair, or warranty advice, and we are not a party to any warranty contract between you and a manufacturer. You remain responsible for verifying warranty terms and product information before relying on them.

Your content

You retain all rights to the content you forward to Vellum (your receipts, warranty registrations, manuals, photos, and the records extracted from them). You grant Springhead a limited license to process, store, and display that content for the purpose of operating the service for you. We do not use your content to train any machine-learning model and we do not share it with third parties except the processors listed in our Privacy Policy.

Intellectual property

Springhead retains all rights to the Vellum software, the Vellum and Springhead brands, and any related intellectual property. You retain all rights to the content you forward to Vellum and to any records derived from it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Springhead is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Vellum. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, USA. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Arkansas.

Changes to these Terms

If we materially change these Terms, we'll notify subscribers via email at the address on file. Non-material updates are reflected by changing the "Last updated" date at the top.
